March-Think Spring– Jeanne and I delivered Valentine Day Cards to our local nursing homes in the area on February 14th we went to visit the Autumn House West, Manor Care, Lutheran Spirit and Colonial Manor. The Staff distributes them to Veterans. Thank you to the Girl Scouts and other members that made up special cards for these troops.
The Auxiliary will have raffle tickets for a Spring/Easter Basket. All proceeds will benefit the VFW National Home for Children. (Pa cottage only), get your tickets 3 for $5.00 and 10 for $10.00.
Drawing will be held on bingo night March 22nd.
We will be collecting items for Sandy’s Shelter (Veterans Helping Hand) which is located at 412 West King Street York, Pa. 17401who takes in homeless Veterans and helps them to find jobs and housing. This is our State President Pam Sopher Special Project for her term in office. A box and a list will be posted for items that the shelter needs. Cash donations are also welcome.
Reminder: Members of Post & Auxiliary 8951 with Children or Grandchildren that are Graduating Seniors or Continuing Education Students are eligible to submit an application for our Annual Scholarships. Applications must be turned in by April 3rd no later. Questions contact Post or Auxiliary member.
